Cassava flour
A staple on the Brazilian table and a traditional crop on our members' properties. The cooperative receives the root, processes it, packages it and takes it to market.
Cassava is the oldest and most resilient crop on properties in this region. It grows in poor soil, withstands dry spells and feeds the family even when other crops fail. Turned into flour, it stops being mere subsistence and starts generating income.
The cooperative's role here is direct: receive the membership's production, process it at scale to a consistent quality and hygiene standard, package it and sell it collectively. A producer alone sells flour at the local market; organised in a cooperative, they reach distributors, retail chains and industry.
Producing, processing and marketing food and ingredients for human and animal consumption are among the social objectives set out in the cooperative's Bylaws.

Sustainability and agroforestry
Cassava is grown in intercropping and rotation on the family properties of our membership, a practice that preserves soil structure and reduces dependence on external inputs. The cooperative provides agricultural technical assistance to its membership and encourages environmental preservation as a statutory objective.
